Destin Florida !

We're here!! Destin, Florida on Spring Break! This would be the view from our balcony. It's a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit in the resort of Wyndham's Majestic Sun. The drive wasn't too bad in and of itself, but the weather made it much more draining than it needed to be. I drove the first leg because we left at 11 p.m. and Gary's not a night driver anymore. It rained for almost all of my 7 hour "shift"! Dark and pouring rain. Not so much fun! We were going to eat breakfast in Nashville, but we made pretty good time and it was way too early. We ate breakfast in Alabama and discovered a time difference! Now we might actually arrive in Destin before check in time!
We arrived around 2:30 p.m. our time (1:30 p.m. Destin time) and check in is at 2 p.m. But, Wyndham's directions proved to be inadequate and the area far more touristy and difficult to navigate than we expected, so we were able to easily waste that half hour and more trying to find our resort!
Tired but happy to be unpacked and "moved in"!
Decor was bright and sunny and fit in well with the beach environment!
Since we only have a 2 bedroom and the need for 3, that sofa (with a pullout) turned out to be the girls' bed. It was easier to put the boys into the bedroom with all of their toys--the bass guitar and amp made the 900 mile trip!
It's always so much fun because our places to stay are always nicer than our home! This corner bench and table need to come live with us! I have just the place in our kitchen.
The boys' room.
The Master Bedroom--our sanctuary from the kids. Because, even with 5 pools, a beach, 3 tv's and all the toys they could pack--we have already heard, "I'm bored." Aaghh!
So, we have absolutely no plans. We're "chilling" and this is driving a certain Miss Daisy CRAZY! The only bad news is that there is a red flag posted at the beach. There is a problem with riptides and undertow. Swimming is declared to be a severe risk at this time. Hopefully we will still be able to make several trips to the beach that is only a walk across the street for us.

  1. Miss Daisy is a lot like Aunt Susie...I couldn't handle a vacation of just "chilling". I can hardly handle a day when I don't have at least one meeting or commitment on my schedule...a week would likely kill me! :)

    The place looks awesome!
