County Honors Band Concert

Both boys were able to participate in our County Honors Band. Students from all area high schools practice for a couple of weeks. They always have a guest Director. It's a small world, because this year's guest Director is the Band Director from Indiana Wesleyan University. My niece Kathy goes to IWU and is a music major. She was excited to hear that the boys would be playing with her director. She evidently talked to him because he did ask Jake if he was related to her. The goofball didn't recognize Kathy's last name at first!

Retired Directors from around the area made up the Dixieland Jazz Band featured in a jazz medley. The gentleman on the trombone was the Assistant Band Director at our school for years and years! He just retired last year.
It's kind of nice having a percussionist~ I can always see him and have great photo ops!
We couldn't even see Zac. He was buried in the center of the band with his saxaphone.
Jake always cracks me up when he's on cymbals. I think I might now know why he seems to be hard of hearing!
