Happy Thanksgiving!!
We're big on snacking in the morning until about noon. At noon, the bird goes into the oven and dinner is at 4:30 in the afternoon. We snack during the parade and preparing the dinner. We snack while we play board and card games. It's a wonder we make any kind of dent in the actual dinner.
Some favorites and must haves for the day are: my garlic cheese dip, veggies with dip, cheese/meat tray, olive platter (green are the overall favorite--but some like the black ones) and for Mom and Dad ~ margaritas and wine.
Gary has always had the chore of cutting up the bird. Knives and I don't mix well.
Daisy's big smile shows that she lost another tooth! It's time to call the orthodontist--the retainers aren't fitting well anymore.
The kids ready for dinner to start! No Zac this year--he's at his Dad's. After this, it will be his choice. He will be a returning college student.
Can you even tell that this one is after dinner? We barely made a dent in any of it! And of course, below is a sample of 14 year old boy (FYOB) humor.

Our Thanksgiving Day menu stays virtually the same every year. I think if anyone ever took us up on the offer of eating with us--we would only have to make a little bit more! We have Turkey (22 lbs. this year); green bean casserole, HOMEMADE stuffing (mine is the best!), mashed potatoes, fried sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, broccoli salad, broccoli with cheese, and a variety of beverages. We have milk, wine, sparkling grape juice, pop and margaritas. It's one of our favorite holidays and we always stay home. The board games come out and sometimes a movie. It's mostly a day of family and relaxation. And they are all used to posing for my pictures!
And nine year old girl humor isn't much different than the FYOB humor!
