Childhood memories were stirred. I had forgotten about deposits and returning bottle and cans!
It seems that Michigan has never given up on this project and Indiana never jumped on the bandwagon! My Michigan Man has been generous enough to help with the supply of soda for the weekends. He will bring some with him from his great state on Fridays. We thanked him, and figured that was that. Until he noted that we were throwing away those cans and bottles! I had FORGOTTEN about all that saving and returning... and getting cash back! Indiana doesn't do that. And oddly enough, even WITH paying a deposit on those containers--soda is less expensive up there than down here! Sorry honey, we're saving those cans and bottles now. The question is: How long will they ride around in your trunk before you cash them in?
