This is the first year that Daisy was allowed to go Trick or Treating with friends. They planned this outing for weeks before. Their title or theme kept varying but the basics remained the same: zombies in formal gowns!
It was a bit chilly so some improvisation had to happen to the costumes. They settled on shirts under the dresses.
Such pretty girls! They had a great time traipsing around town by themselves. We live in a quiet little college town where most of us feel comfortable to let the kids loose once in awhile. So, those are the Zombie girls. Now about that sick girl! Betsy was down and out with H1N1 over Halloween. She was one bitterly disappointed little girl. She also felt free to be quite expressive about who was to blame for this! Luckily, the man from Michigan is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. He came up with a compromise for Betsy. He convinced her to go upstairs and get into an old costume of her choice. He went to CVS and bought candy --I don't ever get anyone at my door, so didn't have any. He had Betsy trick or treat inside the house by visiting different rooms. Then, some incredibly sweet kids (Daisy's friend Desiree and little sisters) brought by some "care packages" of halloween candy for Betsy! She had a most memorable Halloween even though she couldn't go out as planned.
