North Dakota has some interesting landscape, but it wasn’t until we hit Theodore Roosevelt National Park that we were duly impressed. We stopped there only accidentally because the driver needed a potty break (yeah, that was me). We spent more time on that stop than planned--simply to view, take pictures and explore a bit. Back on the road, it seemed to take so long to get anywhere on that map! We have since settled on the reason that there were so few towns to go through it was hard to gauge progress. This leg of the journey took FAR longer than estimated! Maps and mileage really don’t do justice to HOW FAR we had to go! Even with getting on the road promptly at 8 our time--we didn’t arrive at Meadow Lake Golf and Ski Resort until after 9:30 p.m. !
