This beautiful girl lost to cancer today. I won't say it was a battle, because there was never any intention to fight it. At 17, she was given the facts regarding her diagnosis and prognosis, and made the decision to NOT do chemotherapy. She has bone cancer. One with no cure. In April, she was told she had 3-4 months more. That was all! Chemo would have had such side effects and they couldn't guarantee anymore time than another couple of months. That still wouldn't have been enough to bring her to her 18th birthday.
In May, her family was able to enjoy a little bit of paradise with her before she went on alone. I really hope that this wonderful girl--beautiful in mind, body and spirit is in some kind of paradise now.
