Cock of the Walk

Cock of the Walk :
This restaurant's name was Cock of the Walk. We were relieved to see that they explained the name and the story behind it all on the placemats!
The food was decent--they served a great house salad. Few places include cheese, bacon and tomato in the house salad. An interesting touch was eating and drinking from tin plates and tin cups. I have to admit--that was the coldest diet coke I have ever had! Cornbread and coleslaw came with the meal family style--even though we each ordered our own separate meal. When our server brought out our cornbread, it was still in the cast iron skillet. She served with flair--part of her presentation was to flip the cornbread by throwing it high in the air! She landed the first one and we were duly impressed. I missed the shot--wasn't expecting it! We asked her if she ever dropped them and she answered with a "Yes, Ma'm"! When she went to do the second, and this time we were poised with cameras--she did miss it! She was a good sport and ran off to get one that hadn't met the hardwood floor! This was Aunt Susie's treat and we appreciated her choice of restaurants and that she so generously picked up the tab. Wonderful dinner and lots of fun!

Daisy, me and Betsy! We had way too much fun with this chair! The girls are learning a lot from their crazy Aunt Susie! Aunt Susie and Nana posed for me in the giant rocking chair.
