A visit with the college boy who didn't come home this summer... It's getting so hard to get all 4 of them in one place at one time! Jake had to work (detasseling) and couldn't make the trip.
He's not understanding the importance of maintaining contact with his younger siblings. I've tried to help him do this, but this lesson is not hitting home. He may damage their delicate sibling ties permanently. The chasm between them seems to be growing. The awkwardness and the lack of feeling comfortable around him are apparent. I'm worried for my family. I had no idea this stage would be so difficult to navigate. I knew how to referee and guide and separate when they were under one roof. Now I don't know how to pull them together when they are not. And this makes me terribly sad...
